About Me
I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist, trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My journey into the field of therapy began with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, where I developed a deep understanding of human behavior and the complexities of mental health. This led to a Masters in Mental Health and then a Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
As I continued my professional journey, I encountered the work of Dr. Steven Hayes, the founder of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This approach resonated deeply with me, both personally and professionally. Having experienced my own therapy journey, I found the ACT model’s emphasis on accepting difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than trying to avoid or eliminate them, to be life-changing. I was also drawn to the focus on mindfulness and the importance of being present and grounded while engaging in meaningful, value-driven actions, even in the face of internal struggles.
My therapeutic approach blends these insights with a foundation in CBT, using evidence-based techniques to help you identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build emotional resilience. In combining these modalities, I help you to achieve psychological flexibility—the ability to be open, present, and engaged, even in the face of distressing emotions, while committing to actions that align with your personal values.
